GlaxoSmithKline U4 Ellipta Facility

Bryden Wood has been appointed by GSK to undertake the design of the New U4 Ellipta Facility at Ware, Hertfordshire. This building is to be self-sufficient in terms of utilities for GSK, forming an important space for shared provisions by featuring a bridge connecting existing factory areas with the new pharmaceutical assembly and packing facility. 

Part of this proposal is a landscape buffer, which will perform as an effective screen of the new building facing to the residential area, helping to protect all the green urban areas and neighbouring amenity. The plant will be located furthest away from the residential development. To reduce congestion on site as space for construction and material handling is limited, many parts of the building will consist of prefabricated elements, which will be manufactured off site and delivered and assembled in a coordinated, time and space saving manner.
